Going back within my WordPress blog's administrative tools, Russia is leading the way, even most recent in Singapore to America, having the most rejections of spam than all other countries combined. Looking in history, Russia's Federation has been leading the enormous wave of spam, most recently in Singapore, to mine, a glorious painting contractor in Denver.
On the map below, showing Russia is hitting this site, which I am sure is no different than any other site in America or Singapore for that matter. Averaging a measly 30 per day, for mine, but know everything is proportional, others having much more. The main culprit is Russia attacking our financial systems, meddling in an election, stealing our intellectual property, Russia is leading the way spamming websites across America, even to this one.
Interesting to see 4 of the 5 top spam IP's blocked are the same number, varying last 3 digits.
US targets spam botnet after Russian arrested in Spain
WASHINGTON: The US Justice Department said on April 10 it had launched an effort to take down the Kelihos botnet, a global network of tens of thousands of infected computers it claims was operated by a Russian national who was arrested in Spain over the weekend.
Peter Yuryevich Levashov operated the Kelihos botnet that infected computers running Microsoft Corp's Windows operating system since approximately 2010, the Justice Department said.
A criminal case against Levashov by the Justice Department remains under seal, but on April 10 the department announced a civil complaint intended to block spam from the botnet.
Russian-state media service RT reported Levashov was taken into custody in Spain over the weekend on a US warrant.
It was not known if Levashov had an attorney. The Russian Embassy in Washington was not immediately available for comment.
Levashov, who has long been considered the likely identity of an online persona known as Peter Severa, spent years listed as among the world's 10 most prolific computer spammers by Spamhaus, a spam-tracking group.
Russian Spam Sees No Political Side
From Russian hackers used a digital hit list to target nations, including the U.S.
Secureworks’ list covers the period between March 2015 and May 2016. Most of the identified targets were in the United States, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia and Syria.
In the United States, which was Russia’s Cold War rival, Fancy Bear tried to pry open at least 573 inboxes belonging to those in the top echelons of the country’s diplomatic and security services: then-Secretary of State John Kerry, former Secretary of State Colin Powell, then-NATO Supreme Commander, U.S. Air Force Gen. Philip Breedlove, and one of his predecessors, U.S. Army Gen. Wesley Clark.
The list skewed toward workers for defense contractors such as Boeing, Raytheon and Lockheed Martin or senior intelligence figures, prominent Russia watchers and — especially — Democrats. More than 130 party workers, campaign staffers and supporters of the party were targeted, including Podesta and other members of Clinton’s inner circle.
The AP also found a handful of Republican targets.
Podesta, Powell, Breedlove and more than a dozen Democratic targets besides Podesta would soon find their private correspondence dumped to the web. The AP has determined that all had been targeted by Fancy Bear, most of them three to seven months before the leaks.
Several years ago, federal agents traveled to Moscow to enlist the help of their Russian counterparts in arresting one of the world’s most pernicious email spammers. They were rebuffed, a former American law enforcement official who was there said. The spammer, who used the pseudonym Peter Severa, was protected, probably by the Russian government, and could not be touched.
The agents went home and waited for their target to make a mistake.
Last week he did, traveling for vacation to Barcelona, Spain, where the agents who had been following him for years were ready. Early last Friday, Spanish police burst into the hotel room where the spammer was staying with his family and arrested him. Simultaneously, cybersecurity operatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and several private companies took down his online network of tens of thousands of virus-infected computers.
On Monday, the Department of Justice unsealed court papers accusing the spammer, whose real name is Peter Levashov, of wire fraud and unauthorized interception of electronic communications. Mr. Levashov, 36, is expected to be extradited to the United States.
Officials said Mr. Levashov’s arrest and the takedown of his network ended a vast criminal enterprise. For more than a decade, Mr. Levashov used his online empire to enrich himself and help others drain bank accounts and commit stock fraud, officials said. He has flooded computers with millions of spam email messages advertising counterfeit pharmaceuticals and remedies for erectile dysfunction, using subject lines like “No amorous failure risk.”

Your Russian Arsenal Combating Spam-bots And Then Some
Hope this helps your never-ending barrage of spam from mainly Russia. Making this article, hoping I'm not inundated with even more, but wanted to get the word out for all you other bloggers experiencing the same thing. Some of these plugins have drastically helped me, with the constant battle of bots, that can easily overload a server in an instant.
Russia has made it's home in Singapore Malaysia, ramping up the spam during the historic agreement to denuclearize North Korea. One can only imagine.
Today, so many text messages are going back and forth across cell phone services, this makes tracking the dishonest ones even more difficult. Having received hundreds of text messages myself each year, I rarely answer one, if they are not already a customer, which has been a self-taught tip, knowing they are probably scams, frauds, and or embezzlers. The world now is after the almighty dollar, with millennials thinking they should have everything given to them on a silver platter, without needing to work for it. Not sure what major group is responsible for this, but know these shysters are from one culture, age group, or another.
Red flags to watch to watch out for is the person texting you, asking an obvious question of your line of work. Such as asking if you paint, if you're indeed a painter. Asking if you can paint an interior or exterior home, if indeed you're a painting contractor. At first, replying ''Of course we do'', then they follow up with stuff like ''Well, can you give me a quote painting my home, and do you accept credit cards"? At first, this does not seem too invasive, but if you answer yes, they have a plan, described below. If not, they also have a plan mentioned below.
Next Red Flag is, "Well, I'm in the hospital, fixing to have a lung removed, or both legs and one arm amputated ''. Hummm, my question is how and why in the world would anyone buy a home, if having scheduled a lung or a couple legs removed the very next day? Still even wanting their home painted, having one leg in the grave, and one on a banana peel! Just doesn't make any sense.
Giving the benefit of the doubt, some contractors are sympathetic, going ahead looking at the job, knowing the homeowner is not present. This is where we generally draw the line! If we are going to take time out of our busy day to provide a free estimate, we expect to meet our potential customers personally! If married, we request both to be present, that way both can decide right then and there, if they like what is presented to them, and sign on the dotted line.
Coming to you from experienced the best team of painters in Denver, Eco Paint, Inc. can take care of all you're painting needs.
